First of all, I want to share with you that I am very grateful to God for the opportunity we had to do the training in Mexico City. It was very very special. We all cried there! Very, very, special. Every training is different, but this one was special for many reasons. People kept saying they noticed I was very different, but I think we were all different.

Jose Ortega y Gasset once said, “Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are,” which essentially means that wherever your thoughts go, your life follows. I couldn’t agree more. Our thoughts are the perfect gauge for what we will bring into our lives.

Unfortunately, most of the world isn’t paying attention. According to a study by the National Science Foundation, the average person has between 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those thoughts, 80% were negative, and 95% were the same repetitive thoughts as the day before. In short, we are at the mercy of our minds and the noise and chatter that has become our thoughts—depriving us of sleep, filling us with anxiety, worry, and fear, while robbing us of the peace that comes when we no longer live in the present moment. You might think I’m about to suggest that we close our eyes and ears and pretend that all our negative thoughts don’t exist. But the truth is, we don’t have to deny every negative thought that comes into our minds. We don’t even need to fight our thoughts. But we do need to stop identifying with our thoughts. Our goal for this week is to realize that we are not our thoughts; we are the witness of our thoughts. The moment we recognize this, we become conscious of our true self and Divinity, rather than the skin and bones of our physical body. The moment we see ourselves as the viewer behind the thought, we see ourselves as Soul and have thus raised our consciousness.

And yes, your stray thoughts are also your path to awareness and peace!
