The Miracle of Enthusiasm

The Miracle of Enthusiasm

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ever since we were children, we’ve been told the same thing—if you want to succeed in life, you need to work hard and be persistent, go to school and develop the right skills. Now, this is all good advice, but here is what they forgot to tell you: none of this matters if you don’t put heart and soul and love into what you do.

Go ahead and take any work of art. The Mona Lisa. The Sistine Chapel. The Taj Mahal. As magnificent works of wonder as they may be, what brought them to life was a stirring in the creator’s Soul. You see, the path to beauty or greatness (or the life you want to live) is not just talent and skill. The magic elixir that makes your inner and outer dreams come to life is your enthusiasm. You can find it behind your coat pocket, right smack in the middle of your heart.

Now, you might think enthusiasm is something you either have or you don’t, but that is far from the truth. Enthusiasm is a state of mind that can be cultivated until it is hopefully the blueprint for how we choose to live our lives. In this month’s Q&A, I’m going to show you how to find it. I’m enthusiastically overjoyed that we will share this journey!

Participate from ANYWHERE in the World!

In our special Q&A, I will show you how to access this higher state of mind—one that inspires us to put action into whatever we’re doing. Ultimately, we begin by doing work we love or by bringing love to whatever we do. It doesn’t matter whether we’re building the Sistine Chapel or doing dishes with our children; enthusiasm is a part of every moment, no matter how small. The truth is, the smaller, the better (it’s in the tiny moments we learn our habits).

As Aristotle said, “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.” Or in the words of Confucius, “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” Put another way, enthusiasm is part of our spiritual nature, which can be beautifully symbolized by the loving and excited child who embraces all of life. And we all know precisely what that looks like.

Join me as we aspire to become that child—to cultivate our spiritual enthusiasm as a magnet to attract all the beautiful dreams we ever had. And remember, enthusiasm is contagious. What we give to ourselves, we share with the world.

And for the uncertain times we live in, I can’t think of a more important gift.
